St. Cloud Access – River mile 919
The River Bluffs Regional Park
provides a new access to the
Mississippi River circa 2012.
Directions from I-94 are to exit at Hwy
75 (St. Cloud). Proceed north 0.8
miles, turn east on 38th ST one
block to River Bluffs.
There is a picnic area as well as a
boat launch (18 parking spaces). Park
hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Canoeing and Scenery
River Bluffs Park is a stunning
addition to the public access system.
You will encounter a single lane paved
access road which is metered to allow
only one vehicle at a time. Funding for
the development of the park came
from the Clean Water Legacy
amendment. In 2008 Minnesotans
authorized 3/8 of a cent of the sales
tax to be used for environmental
A short fishing trip could be from the
St. Cloud Dam to River Bluffs Park.
This area downstream from the 10
some of the best smallmouth fishing
on the river. The stream length is
short enough for a quick trip; but the
habitat is great enough for several
hours of angling. It won’t take long for
this new park/access to become
popular with recreational users.
